Web Publishing for Educators, CE 6170, for K12 Educators

In this class, educators will learn practical methods of creating a classroom website, and they will begin publishing to the internet from day one! Participants will read articles that will acquaint them with design theory, and they will learn how to utilize Microsoft Frontpage and Adobe Photoshop to make web pages that students, parents, and administrators will flock to. PowerPoint for Educators, CE 6169

This class not only offers a hands-on approach to learning the popular Microsoft software, but you will also synthesize graphic design principles that will enable you to create dynamic presentations for your students and colleagues. Further, you will learn how PowerPoint can provide you with a daily mechanism to spur on thinking in your classroom. It is an excellent tool to help teachers and students organize their ideas, present information, and create a scrapbook of learning. In this week-long class, participants will:

learn to manipulate the software efficiently for their needs;
learn four basic principles of graphic design: proximity, alignment, repetition, and contrast;
format presentations to suit individual needs;
create handouts, speaker's notes, and publish to the internet
